Kiwi Black Pepper Caipirinha
Fresh kiwi and lime meet grassy cachaça with a precise pepper finish.

The formula
Ingredients
One drink — all oz are US fl oz
- 2 oz unaged cachaça
- ½ medium lime, cut into 4 wedges
- 2 tsp superfine sugar
- ½ peeled ripe green kiwi, diced
- 1 pinch finely ground black pepper (about 1/32 tsp)
- 1 cup crushed ice
Equipment
Rocks glass, muddler, bar spoon
Allergens and ingredient notes: Alcohol; check bottled ingredients for allergens.
Liquid oz means US fluid ounces (1 fl oz ≈ 30 mL); solid ingredients use the weights or spoon measures listed. Each recipe makes one drink. For adults 21 and over.
The process
Step by step
- Put lime wedges and sugar in rocks glass. Press gently 6–8 times to release juice without shredding bitter peel. Add diced kiwi and press 3–4 more times.
- Add cachaça and pepper. Fill with crushed ice and stir thoroughly for 15 seconds, lifting fruit through the drink. Serve without an additional garnish.
The Devotti twist: Kiwi contributes both acidity and seeds while black pepper echoes the grassy spirit.
Make ahead and storage
Mix one drink to order and serve immediately; do not store a diluted finished drink.
