Malted Banana Cognac Velvet
Cognac, banana liqueur and malted cream create a rich shaken dessert cocktail with a fine nutmeg finish.

The formula
Ingredients
One drink — all oz are US fl oz
- 1½ oz VSOP cognac
- ½ oz banana liqueur
- ¾ oz heavy cream
- ¼ oz maple syrup
- 1 tsp malted milk powder
- 1 cup ice cubes, for shaking
- 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg (about 1/32 tsp)
Equipment
Shaker, fine strainer, chilled 6-oz coupe
Allergens and ingredient notes: Alcohol, milk, wheat and barley from malted milk; check liqueur.
Liquid oz means US fluid ounces (1 fl oz ≈ 30 mL); solid ingredients use the weights or spoon measures listed. Each recipe makes one drink. For adults 21 and over.
The process
Step by step
- Stir malted milk powder into heavy cream in shaker until smooth. Add cognac, banana liqueur and maple syrup. Add ice and shake hard for 15 seconds.
- Fine-strain into chilled coupe without ice. Dust surface with the measured pinch of nutmeg.
The Devotti twist: Malted milk gives the cream a toasted cereal character that links banana liqueur to barrel-aged cognac.
Make ahead and storage
Mix one drink to order and serve immediately; do not store a diluted finished drink.
