Olive Orange Cacao Negroni
A bittersweet stirred aperitif balances gin, orange amaro and dry cacao with an olive-brine accent.

Ingredients
One drink — all oz are US fl oz
- 1 oz London dry gin
- 1 oz sweet red vermouth
- ¾ oz bitter orange aperitif (such as Campari)
- ¼ oz crème de cacao, dark
- ⅛ oz green olive brine
- 1 cup ice cubes, for stirring
- 1 large ice cube, for serving
- 1 strip orange peel, about 2 inches long
Equipment
Mixing glass, bar spoon, strainer, 10-oz rocks glass
Allergens and ingredient notes: Alcohol; vermouth typically contains sulfites; check crème de cacao.
Liquid oz means US fluid ounces (1 fl oz ≈ 30 mL); solid ingredients use the weights or spoon measures listed. Each recipe makes one drink. For adults 21 and over.
Step by step
- Fill mixing glass with stirring ice. Add gin, vermouth, bitter aperitif, crème de cacao and olive brine. Stir 25–30 seconds until very cold.
- Strain into rocks glass over large serving cube. Express orange peel oils over surface, rub rim with peel and drop it in.
The Devotti twist: A measured trace of olive brine lengthens bitter cacao and citrus without making the drink overtly salty.
Make ahead and storage
Mix one drink to order and serve immediately; do not store a diluted finished drink.
