Orange Blossom Cannoli Crunch Sundaes
Thick ricotta cream layers with cinnamon wonton shards, mini chocolate chips, pistachio, and orange zest.

Ingredients
Cannoli cream
- 1½ cups whole-milk ricotta, drained in a sieve in the refrigerator at least 2 hours before measuring
- ½ cup mascarpone
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp food-grade orange blossom water
- 1 tsp finely grated orange zest
- ¼ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Crunch shards
- 12 square wonton wrappers, about 3 inches across
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Finish
- ¼ cup chopped unsalted pistachios
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp finely grated orange zest
Equipment
Fine sieve, baking sheet, parchment, mixing bowls
Allergens and ingredient notes: Milk, wheat, pistachio; wonton wrappers may contain egg. Check chocolate labels. Contains honey.
Step by step
- Ensure ricotta has been drained in the refrigerator before measuring; loose watery ricotta will not hold layers. Stir it gently with mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla, food-grade orange blossom water, and the cream orange zest until smooth. Fold in mini chocolate chips. Cover and chill 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut each wonton wrapper diagonally into two triangles. Arrange the 24 triangles on a parchment-lined sheet without overlap, using a second tray if needed. Brush both sides with the melted butter.
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the triangles. Bake 8–10 minutes, turning the tray once, until golden and crisp; watch closely during the last 2 minutes. Cool completely, then break each triangle into rough shards.
- Divide half the shards among six dessert glasses. Add half the cannoli cream, then repeat with remaining shards and cream, reserving a few shards from the top layer to stand upright. Finish with all chopped pistachios, the honey in a thin drizzle, and the separate garnish orange zest.
- Serve immediately for the most crunch. These are spoonable cannoli-inspired sundaes; there is no ice cream. Use only food-grade orange blossom water and keep to the small measured amount.
The Devotti twist: Baked wonton shards deliver cannoli-style crunch without frying, while orange blossom brings a delicate aroma to the ricotta.
