Peach Silk Old-Fashioned
Rye whiskey, peach preserves, bitters, and citrus oil in a subtly cloudy slow sip.

Ingredients
Cocktail
- 2 fl oz rye whiskey
- 1 tsp smooth peach preserves
- 1 tsp warm water
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
- 1 cup ice for stirring
- 1 large ice cube, for serving
Finish
- 1 thin fresh peach slice
- 1 strip orange peel, about 2 inches long
Equipment
Mixing glass, bar spoon, fine strainer, 8-fl-oz rocks glass
Allergens and ingredient notes: Alcohol; rye is distilled from grains. Check bitters and spirit labels.
Measurements are US fluid ounces (fl oz), tablespoons (tbsp), and teaspoons (tsp). Syrup components may make extra: use only the drink quantity listed. These recipes contain alcohol and are intended for adults 21 and over.
Step by step
- Stir peach preserves and warm water in the mixing glass until loosened. Let cool for 1 minute. Add rye and bitters.
- Fill with the stirring ice and stir for 20–25 seconds until chilled. Fine-strain over the large cube in the rocks glass; the peach can leave a slight haze.
- Express the orange peel over the surface by gently squeezing it, then add the peel and peach slice to the glass. Serve immediately.
The Devotti twist: Peach preserves provide a measured touch of sweetness and fruit while rye remains the main flavor.
