Orange, saffron honey, gin, and sparkling wine in a golden sunset pour.

Ingredients
Cocktail
- 1 fl oz gin
- 1 fl oz fresh orange juice
- ½ fl oz fresh lemon juice
- ¼ fl oz saffron-honey syrup, made below
- 2 fl oz chilled brut prosecco
- 1 cup ice
Small-batch saffron-honey syrup
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 small pinch saffron threads, about 6 threads
Finish
- 1 orange half-wheel
Equipment
Wine glass at least 12 fl oz, bar spoon, small saucepan
Allergens and ingredient notes: Alcohol; sparkling wine may contain sulfites.
Measurements are US fluid ounces (fl oz), tablespoons (tbsp), and teaspoons (tsp). Syrup components may make extra: use only the drink quantity listed. These recipes contain alcohol and are intended for adults 21 and over.
Step by step
- Warm honey and water over low heat until combined. Remove from heat, add the measured saffron threads, and steep 10 minutes. Strain and cool completely. Measure ¼ fl oz for the cocktail; this batch makes extra.
- Fill the wine glass with ice. Add gin, orange juice, lemon juice, and the measured syrup. Stir gently to combine.
- Add cold prosecco slowly and give one gentle lift with the spoon to mix without losing the bubbles. Finish with the orange half-wheel. Do not add extra loose saffron threads to the garnish.
The Devotti twist: A restrained saffron infusion gives honey an earthy aroma, while sparkling wine keeps the orange drink light.
