Tangerine Chili Satin Margarita
Fresh tangerine softens lime and tequila, with a clean jalapeño note and a half chili-lime rim.

Ingredients
Cocktail
- 1½ fl oz blanco tequila
- ½ fl oz orange liqueur
- 1½ fl oz fresh tangerine juice
- ½ fl oz fresh lime juice
- ¼ fl oz agave nectar
- 1 thin jalapeño slice, seeds removed, for shaking
- 1 cup ice, for shaking
- ¾ cup ice, for serving
Finish
- 1 lime wedge, for the rim
- ½ tsp chili-lime seasoning, for a partial rim
- 1 tangerine half-wheel
- 1 thin jalapeño slice, for garnish
Equipment
Shaker, muddler, fine strainer, 12-fl-oz rocks glass
Allergens and ingredient notes: Alcohol; check orange liqueur, tequila, and chili-lime seasoning labels.
Measurements use US fluid ounces (1 fl oz ≈ 30 mL), tablespoons (tbsp), and teaspoons (tsp). Syrup and tea batches may make extra: use only the cocktail quantity listed. These recipes contain alcohol and are for adults 21 and over.
Step by step
- Rub the lime wedge around half the glass rim and press that half into the measured chili-lime seasoning. Fill the glass with the serving ice.
- Put the cocktail jalapeño slice and agave in the shaker and press gently once or twice with a muddler. Add tequila, orange liqueur, tangerine juice, and lime juice.
- Add the separate shaking ice, seal, and shake 12–15 seconds. Fine-strain into the prepared rocks glass, leaving muddled pepper pieces behind.
- Garnish with the tangerine half-wheel and separate jalapeño slice. The garnish adds aroma; remove it before drinking if you do not want additional heat. Fresh peppers vary in strength even at the same measured size.
The Devotti twist: Tangerine supplies sweetness and perfume while a light pepper press keeps the finish bright rather than harsh.
